Looking for something fun to do during the holiday season?
What about the lost art of letter writing? Chances are it could do both you and your children some good.
Now with IPads, phones, and computers having auto-spell and auto-corrections, our spelling skills might be a little more out of shape than we think. Besides tuning up our vocabulary and spelling skills, writing someone can bring joy into their and your life.
Who to talk too?
It may be a lot of fun for kids to write a pen pal somewhere else in the world, or better yet, they can write letters to the North Pole and talk to Santa or his elves. If you don’t already have your hands full with letters to Santa and would like to write someone, there are plenty of opportunities to do so. Snail mail a new friend overseas in the military, find a pal in Macedonia, write to a patient in need of hope, or to children as Santa.
If writing isn’t your thing, but you love food, consider finding a “foodie” pen pal.
Take a trip to your local craft store and find tons of things you and the kids can get into. Make snow globes, make a calendar for the year to come, or one just for this month with fun pictures.
